Tropics speculation

#1 Postby ameriwx2003 » Mon Aug 04, 2003 1:53 pm

Well since it is relatively quiet ( besides 90L) I decided to speculate, which is dangerous thing for me :):). Anyways, my speculation is that with the strong trof setting up from the Gulf up along the East coast at this time of the year and the trof not looking like it will overpower the Ridge perhaps we get a trof split and maybe some home grown action in the Gulf?. Like I said I am bored and speculating, I realize accuweather won't be hiring me anytime soon:):0. Comments are welcome:):)

Local met said here this morning that there appears to be an ULL spinning in the western gulf. I guess we shall have to wait and see what happens with that.

Any comments?

That ULL in the W GOM is already inland over N Mexico. Not much doing in the GOM right now.

There is always a possibility that something coming SE along the jet may slip into the GOM and have a chance, but I sure wouldn't hold my breath.

Well, here she comes again! All right, I said it three times and I'll say it again; this will be trouble for someone if the ridge holds and the trough doesn't drag it out to sea. Nice convection beginning to fire and arcing towards the LCC. We watch as usual. Cheers!!
