I wouldn't be surprised if it is given TS status again immediately upon emerging into water. Which will, of course, make people say it's undergoing rapid intensification. 8-)

Not uncommon to see stronger winds across a flat lake ... no frictional forces there. Happens all the time across a smaller lakes here in South Carolina ... Lake Moultrie, Lake Murray, etc.
