Weaker = shift west?

Since Ernesto has weaked doe he stand more of a chance to drift further west? I know storms have a tendency to due such things.

mabye, i hope not i like right where it is now, it keeps me out of the front right quadrant.

Derek explained this in the thread about Ernesto on page 20 half way down the page.
