Maybe..just Maybe..

This is the general tropical discussion area. Anyone can take their shot at predicting a storms path.

Maybe..just Maybe..

This system will fall apart. It is getting closer to the land interaction than previously predicted.

It certainly is not yet a well built storm (not stacked) . I have watched the track lift from S. of Jamaica, to over Jamaica, to N. of Jamaica. Each shift lessens this storms chance for survival as a serious player. I am looking only at the short term. To me it is hard to speculate on doom ,gloom, and the disaster that quite possibly will not occur. I hope the islands "knock the shorts" off this weakling. No one needs to suffer. Heck..can you imagine the price of gas if this makes the Gulf as a Hurricane? "Ka Ching !!" How bout four bucks a gallon ? Not to mention, concerns for the welfare of the island residents about to to be impacted. I have seen little sentiment for them in the war of "who will be hit."

The system is getting much larger and better organized at the moment. Also the ULL is backing off. The models are shifting west.

It would be awesome if this thing would beat itself to death over Cuba or some other land mass, but I think the size and momentum plus conditions won't make it that easy.

Actually, it's fairly plausible. Put this just north of Jamaica and then retrograde an ULL into it. Exact Chris redux. Or you can just stall this over Hispaniola or Cuba, but then there would be many killed by flooding so that isn't a good option.

However, it would be much more powerful than Chris at that stage and much larger, while sustaining deeper convection. So I doubt a Chris redux could possibly happen.

Seems to me, a sheared system hugging Hispaniola. Not a first round draft pick in my book.
