I noticed a huge amount of convection this afternoon around there. Glad it's a new invest. We need this to form as well so that the Epac can stay active.

The thread title should not have a period after 99. It's just "99E".

NWS TPC/NATIONAL HURRICANE CENTER MIAMI FL
400 PM PDT THU AUG 24 2006

FOR THE EASTERN NORTH PACIFIC...EAST OF 140 DEGREES WEST LONGITUDE..

THE NATIONAL HURRICANE CENTER IS ISSUING ADVISORIES ON HURRICANE
ILEANA...CENTERED ABOUT 385 MILES WEST-SOUTHWEST OF THE SOUTHERN TIP
OF BAJA CALIFORNIA.

AN AREA OF DISTURBED WEATHER ASSOCIATED WITH A TROPICAL WAVE HAS
DEVELOPED ABOUT 500 MILES SOUTH OF ACAPULCO MEXICO. THIS SYSTEM HAS
THE POTENTIAL FOR SOME DEVELOPMENT OVER THE NEXT DAY OR TWO AS IT
MOVES WEST-NORTHWESTWARD AT 10 TO 15 MPH.

ELSEWHERE...TROPICAL STORM FORMATION IS NOT EXPECTED THROUGH
FRIDAY.
