Chris + the Yucatan, I leave in 30 minutes.

This is the general tropical discussion area. Anyone can take their shot at predicting a storms path.

I'm leaving for Mexico in 30 minutes. Will Chris affect the Yucatan? I'm staying in Playa Del Carmen, and this is a last minute information bust.

I wouldn't worry too hard. Just try to find a computer or TV to monitor the situation. If you have a storm, it shouldn't be a very powerful one. It would have to roll over much of Cuba to hit the Yucatan.

And if it did that it would lose a lot of "punch". I persoanlly wouldn't be really worried about. Enjoy your trip.

Alright. I wont have a computer on hand, we have a beach front hotel room, ground floor. I just would like any opinions before I leave, because I don't know if Mexico has a weather channel or if I will understand it.

If you do get a tropical storm, I don't think it would be as powerful as that storm Ontario got 2 nights ago!

I don't think you have anything to worry about... this certainly isn't going to blowup into something major with Cuba in the way.

Enjoy your vacation. :D

Hopefully a meteorologist will answer before you go, but, the weather down there is not forecast to be affected by Chris (or what's left of it)...

I'm sure there are many resources available. I'm sure they have newspapers at the hotel. You'll be fine. If Chris gets there it will be rain and wind.

In order to get to the Yucatan he'll have to run through Cuba, and at this insensity, there wont be anything left after that.

I want a glass of apple juice and a stop sign. And please do take pictures of Wilma clean-up and such.

I'm starting to forget that he can't read this at all right now.

I was in Playa del Carmen last year for Emily. I predict you'll have a better time than I did.

They did not have any hurricane cocktails that I could find.
