Chris to be a "Miami Vice"? lol

This is the general tropical discussion area. Anyone can take their shot at predicting a storms path.

Any of ya think Chris could make a trip to the Miami area? I think it's possible, especially if the track keeps making these slight northward jogs..

It's certainly within the Cone of Chaos, though I wouldn't bet on it.

The odds of any one storm making a direct hit on a single metropolitan area seem to me rather small, even when said metropolitan area is within the cone.

That said, the forecast track of this storm looks like something out of a Hurricane History book....right up "Hurricane Alley," over some of the warmest waters of the Atlantic.

I have three construction jobs running in Boca and one in Ft. Lauderdale and we are already starting to pick up and secure the loose stuff...just to get a head start. 8-)

Well the following certainly doesn't sound as reassuring as last night's "It's a northern Cuba storm" prediction...

A lot of the model shifted northward on the 06Z run than last night."-SouthFloridawx

"Chris is ever so slightly north of the previous track. There is little change in the forecast reasoning from 12 hours ago. Only slight difference is a slight right shift in the longer term forecast locations, in agreement with the latest guidance. This keeps the storm over the Florida Straits, very near the southern Keys in a little less than 5 days. The ridge may not be quite as strong as the models were suggesting."-Derek Ortt
