This system has hung on against all odds for a while now. My money is on him surviving for the next several days at least - assuming he doesn't crash into Hispaniola.

the official forecast has it strengthening...it doesnt seem likey for it to weaken as much, unless it hits one of the bigger islands

IMO I don't think the big Island will be hit. I think it will go just to the east of the Islands. From there I don't know.
