Jumpiness from TWC

#1 Postby Rieyeuxs » Tue May 23, 2006 1:21 pm

How I define jumpiness after last year? Here's my embarassing story...

Last night I was laying in bed with my Goldens curled next to me and I had been flipping through the channels. Dunno why, but I had stopped on TWC for lack of anything else to watch and turned the volume down for background noise while reading a new book. Being more entertained by the book than the TV, I was not paying any attention, when all the sudden their "hurricane music" plays. As I started up, my eye caught the screen and it was flashing up "Hurricane Safety". Now my brain, half asleep, immediately flashed to self ** That can't be! There wasn't even an Invest up this afternoon!** while simultaneously thinking **that must be a new name on the list this year**

So I lunged out of bed, still wrapped in my blankets to grab my laptop and log onto this site. My brain, still trying to process where this mysterious hurricane could have formed so fast, wasn't paying any attention to my surrounding, while I tripped over my sheets, and pulled my 2 Golden Retrievers (who had been sound asleep) down on top of me as I fell off the bed.

Finally, in the midst of sheets, pillows, laptop, and 2 dogs who are wondering what the heck just happened, my thoughts finally catch up and process the word *safety*. Nothing broken, fortunately, but I wonder if my bruises can be reported as the first hurricane casualty of the season.

Moral of the story: 1) Mute TWC if dramatic music is going to play. 2) Need to sleep now to make up from last year

It's going to be a long season... *sighs and wonders if the dogs will stop eying her funny*

After Aug of last year I was pretty much numb to all that was happening, but I'm rested and ready for more late nite hurricane hunting now. Just hope it's another 50 years before any more mosters hit that close to home.

You might consider saving up for a new laptop if you keep doing that... and new dogs, too.

After last year, this is to be expected. This shows how valuable storm2k resources are to us.

Gotta watch out for that Hurricane Safety... I think the part that would've freaked me out the most is that you slept through storms A, B, C, D, E, F, G, H, I, J, K, L, M, N, O, P, and R!
