First storm ever to form in EC in JULY

As far as I know ..no TS has formed in this area of the Eastern Caribbean in JULY..What a year this is gonna be. :o

Hmmmm I'd consider this the Central Caribbean actually, but you're still right. This is the first early July system to form in this area. :wink:

It doesn't take long to get through the Caribbean when you're traveling 50 mph!! :o

It's really a scary trend. First storm to ever form in April, only the 2nd TS to hit Louisiana in June in 100 or so years, and now Claudette. I can't imagine what the rest of the season will be like!

This is the second. Cesar in 1996 formed in the E Carib in late July

It definately looks that way - I'd say the extremes started back in early 2002 with the extreme drought in eastern part of the US which only worsened with the extreme heat during the summer!

July 8th and we are on our 3rd named storm,sounds like we are on the right track as far as our seasonal numbers go. Claudette has been a tough little system so far to have such a weak little center.Huh, I'm not so sure about that, think she was just traveling too fast. Anyway, she is finally here and now where does she end up? I'm not so sure that she still may have more surprises in store for us. She has been quite entertaining so far.
