Nothing is set in stone yet so we can only postulate...

I'd bet Holly Beach, Cameron, and much of Plaquemines.

I wouldn't though say anything about the MGC, IMO though they were wounded they will have a near 100% recovery.

Granted theres alot of towns in my opinion arent worth spending millions on rebuilding, especially when they'll just be doing it all over again likely in the next ten year.

UH, Holley Beach is gone, wiped clean last pictures I saw. Johnson Bayou is starting to recover with only a few there from what one of our members who lived/lives there said. Cameron I really haven't heard much about lately, but we all know it was SEVERELY damaged. I thought there was one other reallly little town along the LA Coast that Rita took out, but I can't remember it's name.

How many towns were literally washed away by Katrina? Most towns along the MSG will probably recover...they recovered from Camille, and they'll recover from Katrina too. But what about all the delta towns in southeast Louisiana? I have not seen one news report out of there, which I find unbelievable.

I did get the opportunity in 1995 to go to Cameron, Holly Beach, Pecan Island and so on. I was 13 then. At 24, it's hard to imagine those whole towns just "gone." In 2005, 3 hurricanes crossed the LA coast, something that had not happened since 1860. Let's hope 2006 doesn't even come close.

do we mean by hurricanes or by natural disasters?

I am sure cities devastated by that monster earthquake in Pakistan just resemble rubble now

Pass Christian (in Mississippi) is a town that comes to mind. The total damage there is truely horrible.

It's not a town, but the Chandelier Islands off the coast of La. are unrecoverable. Also, towns like Venice, Buras, and the small boat town of Pilottown have been wiped out in Plaquemines Parish, La.

Well...not exactly "all of it". I've been working up and down that area for the past few months. The "parish" is still literally there, but most civilization in the parish is gone. The upper parts are beginning to recover....a little.

Plaquemines Parish south of Belle Chasse. Area's of St Bernard Parish. Out of all of St Bernard Parish, only 2 homes were completely untouched by floodwater. MGC- Waveland, Pass Christian, Long Beach.

How many people stayed in those areas or is that still unknown?
