A concrete house will only suffer damage in a Cat 4 or 5.

what about a well built wood frame, brick vanere? How i wish our home was a CBS but then some gc told me that wood "gives" in a hurricane. (right, it gives way in the wind!)

Windcity my house was built in 1960 and my parents had it then and it's been the family house since. It has seen every cane throw at it thus far and did remarkably well in Katrina.I went out on the porch I had built after Georges solid as a rock.During Georges I could feel the eves giving alittle during Georges scared the hell out of me so I built a bigger porch anchored to concrete and 4x4 concreted in the ground.A world of difference.I do think wood houses give some it's a thing called tensile strength comes into play. The houses need to be will constructed though.
