Apart from the heavy rains in squalls and gusty winds that will go to where the center makes landfall and points east of center watch out for the possibilitie of some tornadoes.

Good point Luis and I mentioned this in another thread. This is a reminder that tropical systems can and occasionally do spawn tornadoes. One such system (I forget its name) spawned over 2 dozen I believe. :o

Yes, Tropical Systems are a big producer of tornadoes... not only do you need to watch out for torrential downpours and strong winds, but severe weather is also possible as the storm moves over your area! :o

Chalmette, La is under a tornado warning as we speak. Right by my house.

New tornado warning for a tornado that touched down in Reserve about 25 minutes ago for St. John the Baptist Parish. Most hurricane tornados are very short lived, but they can be destructive (ref. Laplace, LA - St. John the Baptist Parish btw - 1992 Hurricane Andrew).

Everyone watch those squall lines.
