I saw the article in my local newspaper, and thought to me self - some idiot has been reading the post here a few days ago and relayed it as news. Then I come here and find out it's real, and I just got the advisory on my e-mail. It's going to be real hard for a storm to form later in the year - there's only a day left.

Actually, I think Alice wins, as it became a tropical storm on Dec. 31, but because the NHC didn't make it's first advisory till Jan. 1, it was named Alice. Then again, we're discussing semantics, as Zeta will go down as the latest "named" of any particular season, while Alice the first--even though there's an undisputed overlap.
