11 AM AST WED DEC 28 2005

...TROPICAL STORM ZETA...THE 27TH NAMED STORM OF THE 2005
ATLANTIC SEASON...FORMS OVER THE CENTRAL ATLANTIC OCEAN...

AT 11 AM AST...1500Z...THE CENTER OF TROPICAL STORM ZETA WAS
LOCATED NEAR LATITUDE 31.6 NORTH... LONGITUDE 50.4 WEST OR ABOUT
845 MILES...1360 KM...EAST OF BERMUDA AND ABOUT 1395 MILES...2245
KM... WEST OF THE AZORES ISLANDS.

ZETA IS MOVING TOWARD THE WEST NEAR 8 MPH...13 KM/HR...AND THIS
GENERAL MOTION IS EXPECTED TO CONTINUE FOR THE NEXT 24 HOURS

MAXIMUM SUSTAINED WINDS ARE NEAR 55 MPH... 75 KM/HR...WITH HIGHER
GUSTS. SOME STRENGTHENING IS FORECAST DURING THE NEXT 24 HOURS.

TROPICAL STORM FORCE WINDS EXTEND OUTWARD UP TO 200 MILES...325 KM
FROM THE CENTER... ESPECIALLY TO THE NORTH AND WEST OF THE CENTER.

THE ESTIMATED MINIMUM CENTRAL PRESSURE IS 990 MB...29.32 INCHES.

REPEATING THE 11 AM AST POSITION...31.6 N... 50.4 W. MOVEMENT
TOWARD...WEST NEAR 8 MPH. MAXIMUM SUSTAINED
WINDS... 55 MPH. MINIMUM CENTRAL PRESSURE... 990 MB.

THE NEXT ADVISORY WILL BE ISSUED BY THE NATIONAL HURRICANE CENTER
AT 5 PM AST.

Sorry to anyone that may not see this as just a plain joke to celebrate the "day of jokes." If you see, that was the first advisory issued to Epsilon with some changes (name, date, +10 wind speed, -3 barometric pressure.)

Seriously, I was going to make it worse. I was thinking like "TS ZETA FORMS, HURRICANE WARNINGS ISSUED FOR MIAMI-DADE COUNTY" or something like that. But I said to myself, lets take it easy and not give a heart attack to anyone!

I thought it was funny, Sandy. But to be quite honest, I was about to send an email to a couple of co-workers (we had been talking about the trough west of Africa) until I read the end of your first message. :D

If you do that, wait 10 days! I'm not home right now and the thought of my SO and animal "kids" going through that without me is scary. :P

I wasn't amused at first, but I'm relaxing more now. Any other year, I might have been more amused from the get-go!
