Ten Top Reasons Hurricane Season is like Christmas....

#1 Postby CHRISTY » Sun Dec 25, 2005 6:15 pm

[img]10. Decorating the house (OK: boarding up windows).
9. Dragging out boxes that haven't been used since last season (camping gear, flashlights).
8. Last minute shopping in crowded stores.
7. Regular TV shows pre-empted for "specials".
6. Family coming to stay with you
5. Family and friends from out of state call.
4. Buying food you don't normally buy ... and in large quantities.
3. Days off from work.
2. Candles.
And the number one reason Hurricane Season is like Christmas:
At some point you know you're going to have a tree in your house!

On the twelfth day of Christmas,
my adjuster sent to me
Twelve roofers roofing,
Eleven road signs tilting,
Ten checks a-mailing,
Nine tempers flaring,
Eight electrical trucks,
Seven generators,
Six FEMA letters,
Five twisted trees,
Four propped-up fences,
Three blue tarps,
Two ruined screens,
And a picnic table in my palm tree!

A little diddy for those in hurricane ravaged areas (sung to the tune of The Twelve Days of Christmas). Happy Holidays!

I'll add one:
I wind up drinking heavily until it's over.
