This was during Irene, just before Katrina...were we really complaing about boredom after Dennis/Emily?

Sure . . . after having 9 storms, a three week period without any formations was boring the crowds we had and half of the posters had made some remark about being bored, I think some even started to say the season was going to be quiet from there out.

Yes, it's true. And every time people said that, a Cat 5 would form right after the thread was started. It took Wilma to finally calm everyone down. There was a period from late July-mid August, DURING! Ophelia, and right before Wilma formed that people kept saying the season was dead. I was one of them during the first period. It's somewhat funny to look back at.
