New What's the Last Storm for 2005?
What do you think? I'm stopping with Eta since that leaves the option for 5 additional named storms from now through November 30th (or beyond). No way November gives us 5 named storms, but...

I voted either Gamma or Delta (forgot which LOL) as being the last named storm. It's very tough to get more than a couple of storms in November. With SST anomolies across the tropical Atlantic starting to come down, I'm not confident that we'll see more than one or two more named storms this seasons. It's nice to think that, since the season up to this point has been amazingly above average, the rest of the year will be above average as well. However, I'm not sure this will be the case. IIRC, we tend to see 1 named storm after Nov 1 on average. If the conditions come back to 'average' or 'normal' for this time of year, there's not particular reason (other than statistical chance) that we'll continue to see above average activity through the end of the year. Conditions are more favorable that climatology would suggest, thus the reason I'm thinking we could see another 2 named storms this year.

However, Zeta is also 4 storms away, which seems almost a reasonable estimate (perhaps a stretch).
