How Strong Will Wilma Be At Florida Landfall?

#1 Postby MiamiensisWx » Sat Oct 22, 2005 1:14 pm

Some say that Wilma could regain some strength over the Gulf of Mexico, possibly causing it to be a stronger storm at landfall in Florida. However, intensity at Florida landfall is very uncetain.

How strong do YOU think Wilma will be at Florida landfall?

110 mph. Wilma could though be in early stages of extratropical transition, but probably still mostly if not all tropical.

Now that things have progressed further, what are your new opinions on Wilma's strength at Florida landfall?

The majority who voted said Wilma would be a Category Three at Florida landfall. Correct!

*DO NOT VOTE IN THIS POLL! IT IS OLD!*

I'm leaning to a cat 4 at landfall based upon 90% of 126KT at flight level, yielding about 114KT. Could be a 115KT at 3 though (I didnt see the ntoice not to vote as I thought this was a new poll)

3 more people had to vote in this, and they voted Cat 1, 2, and 4 (Derek being the 4). I guess it is all a matter of opinion until the report is released.
