This is the general tropical discussion area. Anyone can take their shot at predicting a storms path.

...October has been more active than September. Soon-to-be-Alpha made that official at 11AM this morning. Wow. The way this season has gone, I wouldn't be surprised if the Atlantic works overtime. We shall see.

It would not surprise me if there were both a 2005 version of Hurricane Lenny moving from west to east accross the Carribean, and another Category 2 (after Wilma) affecting Florida in November. I expect 2 to 4 more storms after TD 25 is upgraded into Alpha.

Current totals:

June - 2
July - 5
August - 5
September - 5
October - 5

That would be an odd pattern if November saw 2 storms. (and October has no more!) Definitely defying that old "hurricanes per 100 years" chart.

What kind of storm would Gamma be?? Frozen orange snow in November flying at 80 mph in the Sunshine State.

Wow. Great observation. There have been so many storms this year, I've not tracked it month to month.

This should mean that Tropical Storm Theta should form on Christmas Eve if this whacky season holds true to form.
