Thread dedicated to Wilma after Yucatan

What's the land surface like? Obviously there will be little eye interaction on this current path, so is it possible this could get into the gulf at a 4 (especially since it's probably a 5 now) ?

How bad is the shear? How much will it effect a category 3-5?

What was the shear like before Charley hit?

The waters are still warm enough to support a Cat 4-5 I think in the gulf.

The land is totally flat. Emily almost made it to the BOC as a Cat. 2.
