GOM and Carribean.

1940s featured a few big ones.
1848 featured 2 major hurricanes hitting near Tampa Bay within
a month of each other.
2000, 2001, and 1999 featured Gordon, Gabrielle, Irene which were
cat 1s that developed and hit the west coast or sw coast in response to
troughs.
2004 of course had Charley.

2003 we had weakening TS Henri which caused storm surge flooding
in Shore Acres, a neighborhood close by which floods easily from any
major high tides.

This storm flooded out all of old Tampa and caused quite a bit of destruction in Sarasota. Our season is soon to start. Cold fronts are our enemy until they bring the SST's down into the 70's.
