My fears of the destruction that Rita could bring were never realized, not even close. Im in Pasadena, and in my neighborhood we only lost a few leaves and one fence was swayed a little bit. As Rita moved on she was replaced by a even larger, more ferocious monster.....my 8 year old daughter. She was a Cat 5 armed with mom's red lipstick and she proceeded to paint her nails, yes her nails (fingers and toes), with it. Then she wobbled northwest to my white comforter, and then wobbled west to the carpet in my bathroom before making landfall in groundsville where she is going to stall and stay put for the next seven days.
Prayers are with those affected worse.

I can relate..........3 House cats in the car...5 hours out major crap in the back seat. Pull over clean it up.....8 hours out cat in front seat gets pissed off and tries to eat me feet........10 hours out stuck in traffic not moving on 90w (I will never travel 90w until I die) wife decides a bathroom break in front of 1000 of people on a two way road in the middle of the day with cow pasture on each side.... 15 hours out inlaws behind me calling every 20 mintues flipping out. 17 hours out stuck on 90 w cat decides to puke all over the back seat and Im talking projectile puke here. 18 hours out turn around head home and got home in 1 hour.
Thurday night inlaws sleep over...4am mother-inlaw wakes up everyone in the house screaming end of the world we have to get out.....told her to go home in Pasadena........Friday night and today normalacy returns and finally I can relax.........

The same here across from Mobile in Fairhope. Tonight it has rained non-stop. All three of my little hurricanes were asleep in my bed with me until I got up a few minutes ago.
