KPLC News 7 Reporting Damages, Lake Charles Areas

#1 Postby chrisnnavarre » Sat Sep 24, 2005 2:46 am

Local Sheriffs reporting roofs in streets, an 18 Wheeler in Highway...Trees on roofs. High wind speeds, terrible situation outside of St. Patricks Hospital. Large tree uprooting in the middle of house near the parking garage. Conference room window broken in the hospital, possible roof breeched. Pressure in water pipes reported...i.e. "sounds like the pipes are breathing with every wind gust".

Inner eyewall passing overhead right now....

have heard about the severe damages as well.

Looking at the radar, they are still not in the eye wall. One more band to go for Lake Charles, should be there in about 30 minutes

This a pic of a tall building in Lake Charles (not sure of the name of the building). I have to believe that building is going to suffere severe damge due to the glass surface:

CNN reporter in Lake Charles talks of a building being heavy damaged right now with windows being blown out etc. Wonder if he's talking about that building.

Fox News is reporting a highway overpass has collapsed in Lake Charles. An overpass? I'm trying to figure out what exactly would cause that.

Maybe some flooding? The foundation of the overpass would have to wash away or be hit by something to collapse..

may have been under construction as Katrina caused an overpass to collapse here in Miami that was under construction
