Comical Question!

#1 Postby Swimdude » Sat Aug 27, 2005 10:45 pm

Ok, a friend of mine won't quit bugging me. Her name is "Katherine." She's a tad unhappy that her name isn't on a hurricane list.

I told her this might be her big break!

Assuming Katrina will be retired, does anyone know the replacement name?

Kalisthenya...

...no.. really, I don't know. Katherine is unlikely because it's too similar to Katrina and Kate is already a diminituve of it.

I think they will add Kimberly or Kelly, two common "K" female English names.

Laugh at me please. My oldest daughter's middle name is Kathryn. Her namesake is Katrina Maria which translates from Swedish to English has Kathryn Marie. So you can tell her that her name in Swedish is Katrina.

On the other side my daughter is not very happy about having a killer storm named the same name as her. She doesn't like the fact that someone will be effected by it and hurt. Six years old and already reasons like this. And yes I am very proud of her!

This July I went to Playa del Carmen, Mexico with my girlfriend named Emily. She was really excited about being on the list of names this year...until we were evacuated.

The replacement 'K' name is going to be "Kamille"

I was THRILLED to have one of the most famous storms in US History named after me (Andrew) - not that that's anything to brag about I guess. Hmm...
