I am confused

#1 Postby Galvestongirl » Sat Aug 27, 2005 10:18 am

Please, can someone tell me if the turn has begun? there is so much panic and posting of each little movement that it has completely confused me. I dont mean to be ugly, but this bore is completely chaotic!

Until you hear a pro met confirm it, I wouldn't buy into it too much. A lot of people are excited and read too much into wobbles....this storm has tricked us that way a few times already! I think it will take more than 2 radar frames to be positive of a true turn....lets wait and see.

The NHC said it was moving west at 11 eastern, for the record.

I know what you mean and I don't think you are being ugly about it. There is so much going on it is hard to tell what is going on. Honestly I don't think anyone knows right now because this storm is so changeable. One minute it is going this way and then next it going this way. And the computer models. One minute they are pointing to the east and the next the west and back. See I am already confused just by typing this.

So far the NHC says W at the 10 report.

As per the 11am adv. still west @ 7 but at 275 (remember W == 270).

As for this board ( I think that's what you meant: bore = board), it would make a great case study for human psychology.

I'm starting to think it's not necessary to see any radar frames, satellite loops, or coordinate plots at all to see the turn ;) If you want to see it, every freakin' wobble is the "definitive turn to the north" or "yes, the turn has begun, my friends, no doubt." Seriously, this storm proves to me (not that I ever believed this though) that all the people in the world who are pulling for a storm to go a certain direction cannot make it go even a hair's breadth in a given direction. I'll leave it at that.

A lot of these wobble watcher posters have the storm wobbling in there direction, just look at the location of the poster.

Galvestongirl i feel your frustration, i'm almost to the point that i'm considering not looking at this board the rest of today. There are so many posters on this forum with a personal agenda as far as to where Katrina may end up that they've totally lost their objectivity.
