Wind statistics question

#1 Postby T'Bonz » Sat Aug 27, 2005 2:00 am

Does anyone know a good site that gives windspeeds? I'm trying to find out what we got up to here with Katrina, both in sustained winds and gusts. I looked at WU, but their data is really on the low side for my station (Coral Springs) and some values are zero. That makes no sense.

Instead of spending a long time looking for the data, I figured my fellow weather geeks would know the best place to look. ;)

look in the thread for recon stickied above for current readings and then you can convert it on this site - http://www.hurricanetrack.com/

OK, can you dummy it down for the dummy please? :D

If it's converting knots to miles, I do have a chart for that.

I was looking for data from what Katrina did in my area. Are you saying that I can find the stats I need in the recon thread?

Thanks.
