Hurricane All The Way Across Florida

#1 Postby Sanibel » Fri Aug 26, 2005 5:15 pm

I don't think Katrina should have been dropped to TS just before re-emerging. The pressures were estimated.

Katrina had a 984 pressure across the east coast. When the hunters got there this morning they found 981.

I don't think it ever lost hurricane status...

I agree it stayed a hurricane all the way across. It also appeared to have gotten stronger over south-central Florida. I did not understand that down grade.

Wouldn't surprise me. It's not as if it went over land the whole way. Once it hit west Dade, that was all warm swamp from there on out.

But were obs being taken during Kat's journey across Alligator Alley?
