Southerly jog Continues...She is still Drifting SW at a very slow pace...Makes me nervous if she don't Gain latitude all bets are off. She may start running N and NE sooner than thought...Maybe as far as possibly Ceder Key..

How do you figure.I would think further S less impact of the troph to pull her N and further W.This might be why alot of the models are beginning to pull W for landfall. The NHC expect this movement for the next 24hrs thats about 160 miles possibily further W.

Why do you say this? The further south she goes, the better chance she will miss the trough.

Here's a silly question... how long is the weakness supposed to last? Is a ridge supposed to build back over the (forecast) weakness fairly quickly, or is the opening supposed to stick around for a while?

I see that too, boca_chris. let's see if it's just a wobble. i think it may be more long-term, as evidenced by some convection wrapping around the north part of the eye, suggesting that the "force" exerted on katrina from the north pushing her SW might be abating.

Watch the eye, she's not pulling northward, she's just filling in that north side that has been anemic for most of the morning. The eye is getting itself centered within the storm, as it continues to strengthen....
