I am really very surprised by this storm...I posted a thread on how we missed it, and I include myself, wholeheartedly. God, I LOVE nature and hurricanes. It is just so intriquing. Check out this radar loop...what is this storm doing? Is the possibility of a loop actually out there? Is this storm making a beeline for Key West? after seeing the tracking map, that thought did cross my mind, it has made half the circle but i don't see anything to force it go beyond SW movement

A loop South of Florida? I'm just looking and guessing. If it were to do a loop it would occur through it's own energy, swinging it around, IMO.

How's this for an alternate explanation for Katrina's track across Florida: It was seeking the path of least resistance (the Everglades,) and simultaneously the shortest path to water. Once back out, it continues W.
