Stupid Question

I have heard in the past somewhere that ULL's sometimes aid in helping tropical systems develope is this at all true? I know it is a stupid question but, i thought I heard a Local MET talking about it one time.

If positioned correctly, they can aid in "venting" the system. Providing better outflow..

ok thanks that is what I heard... And in what position to the storm does that have to be? Meaning Direction

yes they can sometimes vent a storm and aid in the outlfow which helps the storm gain strength.I am no expert but i believe if the ULL is on the northeast side of the storm that its the best place for the storm to intensify but a pro could probably help more with that.
