question on shear
All the shear that's currently going on right now would be normal for an El Nino year so whats causing all the shear right now?

This is not like an El Nino year, there is not 40 kt shear ripping across the Atlantic south of 20N the last time I checked the shear map.
The shear right now is caused by a huge anticyclone across the southeastern US, some ULL's, and an abnormally strong upper-level trough over the eastern Atlantic.
And please nobody else reply to this thread as there will be sure some people (I will not mention who) who will start arguing that everybody's thinking this season's a dud and that people are hurricane happy or whatever.
