Gulf of Mexico Tropical Summary - GUTS IN on August 18, 2005

<img src="http://www.diamondheadweather.com/guts20050818.jpg">

We're beginning to see some changes in the Gulf - the persistent
ULL is moving westward toward Texas as a ridge builds in over Florida.
The ridge is bringing some drier air into the Gulf.

A tropical wave in the bay of Campeche is moving West, and will move into Mexico without development.

I do not expect tropical cyclone development in the Gulf of Mexico
in the next 48-72 hours.
