MegaDry Atlantic CV Train

#1 Postby ConvergenceZone » Fri Aug 12, 2005 12:07 am

Wow, this is what I was talking about last night when a couple of people were talking about the Atlantic waves being impressive. Just as always, the next day, the convection is all but gone. Check out the below image, this is what ya call a naked Atlantic cv train.. Remember how impressive these waves looked yesterday and the day before? Not anymore. There must be some seriously dry air out there!!

Let's be nice now...

Thanks for the observation. However, the NHC is noticing a trend that seems to be leading towards development. Just because convection disappears doesn't mean a flare-up can't occur soon thereafter.

meant to say that there are soooo many threads that it makes it extremely difficult to find the ones you are looking for in order to post underneath them. I'm sure if I looked hard enough I could have found a thread that your original post regarding the atlantic waves could have went under.

I was going to post on this last night.

The SAL has really plunged down on the ITCZ by CV.

(August lull in activity early season year?)

Is that what's going on Sanibel? If so, that explains it. Oh, and I'm not criticizing those who think it's going to develop, just stating that everytime there's an Alantic wave that looks good, it seems to lose convection the following day, and then it just slowly fades away after that. Your idea of SAL is interesting. Perhaps that's the reason for this.

Thanks, that's a great loop.

Looks like Irene's had a lot of that in the way. Her throat must be scratchy.
