b-day: Odette and Otto of 2003 and 2004. Odette hit DR, no hurricane-force wind ever recorded in ATL on 12/5. one turned into cane afterwords in 1887.

heard of: Bertha, 1996

tracked: Allison, 2001

B day: Isabel 2003, made landfall on my 13th birthday, direct hit, i went through the eye wall here in eastern NC

Gilbert, La Pesca Mexico, 1988

Lake Okeechobee Hurricane, Florida, 1928

Great Miami Hurricane, Turks Islands, 1926

(I got most of the icky ones; born during a TX tornado, too... :Hug:

HURRICANE KATE.. November 1985...Cuba/Florida Keys.

First Hurricane I ever heard of:-

DENNIS & FREDERIC in the summer of 1979. I was 10 years old and was in Florida at the time of Dennis.

First Hurricane I ever tracked:-

HURRICANE ALLEN in August 1980.

Closest to my birthday - first one of any season since my birthday is in March

First one I heard of - Carol and Diane of '55...my parents told us about the flooding that my area experienced from them

Hurricane Lili in 2002 was a cat 4 on my birthday.Opal was growing on my birthday and hurricane conditions were felt in San Diego on my birthday in 1858.

I dont remember the storm but when I was 5 or 6 (early to mid 1970s) I remember seeing a satellite pic of a TC in the paper and cutting it out and taping it to my wall.

The first storm I made some feeble attempt to track and follow was Frederic although Hugo is where my interest really took off.

HURRICANE NEAREST TO MY BIRTHDAY...

Hurricane Andrew from 1992. I was born on the day right after Andrew. I was born in southern Florida. It made landfall near Homestead, Florida.

FIRST HURRICANE I HEARD OF...

I think it was also Hurricane Andrew from 1992.

FIRST STORM I STARTED TO TRACK...

I think it was Hurricane Floyd from 1999, though I am not positive!
