What is it with 92L?

This is the general tropical discussion area. Anyone can take their shot at predicting a storms path.

What is it with 92L?

#1 Postby Stormcenter » Fri Jul 29, 2005 3:48 pm

What is the big deal with 92L? Why do some people on
this board keep on insisting this won't develop?
It's almost like they've been locked in a closet for the
last 2 months. Don't you guys realize that the odds are
in favor of 92L developing than not based on this season's history so far. The same thing was said of Cindy,Dennis, Emily and others by the some of the same people. If the NHC says it has a chance than it does. End of story. Now I feeling better. Thanks for letting me vent. :)

I don't think recon has reached the area yet because the only vortex messages are from Franklin...

I wonder if they cancelled the mission or if they are still on their way?

Vortex messages are only sent when a vortex (low level circulation) is found.

If you read the posts of the various professionals here, we're not saying it WON'T develop, we're saying it ISN'T developing today. That 92L was no more than a tropical wave was quite obvious on satellite and with the numerous surface obs across the NE Caribbean. I think it has a good chance of developing in 2-3 days once it moves past the DR, perhaps 40%. That's a much higher chance than most June/July waves.

And as for the past 2 months, I haven't been in a closet. I've been on hurricane shift for 12-16 hours a day since Arlene developed. That includes ALL weekends and the 4th of July. This is my 2nd day off since mid June. Believe me, I realize it's been active out there.

wxman57 the post wasn't directed at you personally so don't take it personal. It was directed at those who said 92L would NEVER develop or basically dissapate. I just don't see that happening.
