24 days straight with a tropical action in the atlantic.

This is the general tropical discussion area. Anyone can take their shot at predicting a storms path.

For the last 55 years:
If by tropical system, you include tropical depressions becoming tropical waves and reforming, the following have 30 or more consecutive days of tropical activity. Ones with *'s show storms losing a circulation, then becoming a TD again. This includes Renmant Lows in the best track.
*65- 2004 (Alex through Lisa, July 31-Oct. 3) (Bonnie through Lisa is 56 days)
62- 1955 (Brenda through Janet, July 31-Sept. 30)
55- 1969 (Holly through Hurricane 17, Sept. 14-Nov. 7)
*45- 2002 (Dolly through Lili [Kyle lasted longer than Lili], August 29-Oct. 12) (Dolly through TD 10 (Isidore) is 15 days, Isidore reformed through Kyle's death is 25 days)
45- 1995 (Felix through Marilyn, August 8-Sept. 22)
37- 1950 (Able through Fox, August 12- September 17)
36- 1989 (Erin through Iris [Hugo lasted longer than Iris], August 18-Sept. 23)
36- 1999 (Bret through Harvey [Gert lasted longer than Harvey], August 18-Sept. 22)
36- 1964 (Cleo through Gladys, August 20- Sept. 24)
33- 1963 (TS 3 through Flora, Sept. 10- Oct. 12)
31- 1979 (David through Henri, August 25-Sept. 24)
30- 2000 (Florence through Leslie, Sept. 10-Oct. 10)
30- 1995 (Noel through Sebastien, Sept. 26-Oct. 25)
30- 1993 (Dennis through Harvey, Aug. 23-Sept. 21)
30- 1960 (Donna through Florence, August 29- Sept. 27)

Honorable Mention:
1990- 24 Days (July 22- August 14), 25 Days (August 24-Sept. 17), 26 Days (Sept. 21-Oct. 15)
1988- 16 Days (August 21-Sept. 5), 24 Days (Sept. 7-Oct. 1). Debby went from Atlantic to EPAC, and was an EPAC TD from Sept. 5 to Sept. 8.
1981- 20 Days (August 31-Sept. 19), 12 Days (Sept. 21-Oct. 2)
1974- 28 Days (August 26-Sept. 22), 14 Days (Sept. 27-Oct. 9). Fifi went from Atlantic to EPAC, and was an EPAC storm from Sept. 22-25.

Well as long as you're not complaining. I'd like to see 2005 go for a record... But we'd better see the next storm develop pretty darned quick if we want to keep these 24 days going...

Wow, I appreciate your time compiling this information. However, there's a mistake in 2004. There was a break in between Danielle and Frances of a few days. I can't recall exactly how long, but there was one.

Anyone else noticed the monster ejecting from the African coast on IR? That looks far more impressive than 92L at the moment.

Actually, according to the NHC, Danielle died on the 21st, making it a four-day period in late August where there were no TC's.

Sorry to bother again. Danielle was a renmant low from 21-24, that is what I was counting. The topic creator said tropical something.... It could go either way. I'll admit I got lazy and only checked the best track at Unisys, where they classify Renmant lows as TD's.

Actually, after just visiting Unisys, I see that they only have Danielle tracked through 15Z on August 21.

Franklin should be around for at least another three days, giving the Cape Verdes time to crank out a long-tracker, thereby keeping the streak going.
