Updated Thoughts on Wave and NEW Wave

WAVE #1:::

How strong a hurricane depends on how fast it develops, however something of atleast a Category 1.

WAVE #2:::

Given past storms and what could occur, the storm in m opinion will be about 60 kts at this point, however if it were to say, pull an Isabel, it could be as strong as 100 kts. This one could be a greater threat if it keeps this great organization.

Interesting forecast. What will be the impact of what's left of Franklin drifting south towards Hispaniola?

I think that will be swept with Franklin out to sea.

Those waves seem quite disorganized right now, but over the next couple of days they could become better organized. In that case intensification is possible. The one coming off of Africa also looks vigorous.

I agree. The one that just came off the coast looks pretty organized. It will be interesting to see if it can hold together.

Just did a calculation, that second wave looks to be about 3000 miles ESE of the SE US. Moving at 10-15 kt I think (from another forum). 3000 mi = 2600 nautical miles...7-10 days away from continent if it continues at current pace...perhaps up to 12/13 days considering it may slow down while consolidating...
