If Franklin's center is exposed won't it eventually just fall apart or could it regenerate as it moves SSW?

Yes, if "eventually" means "over three days at minimum".
or could it regenerate as it moves SSW?
Renewed convection isn't likely until movement veers more westerly.

But don't think Franklin is weakening too much: A steep pressure-gradiant is going to develop between the center of Franklin and the building ridge.
