How many forecasters get to say this...

This is the general tropical discussion area. Anyone can take their shot at predicting a storms path.

TROPICAL STORM FRANKLIN DISCUSSION NUMBER 8
NWS TPC/NATIONAL HURRICANE CENTER MIAMI FL
5 AM EDT SAT JUL 23 2005

FRANKLIN...THE STORM...NOT THE FORECASTER...HAS BECOME A LITTLE BETTER ORGANIZED OVERNIGHT.

.......

IT IS QUITE POSSIBLE THAT LITTLE OR NOTHING WILL BE LEFT OF FRANKLIN...THE STORM...NOT THE FORECASTER...IN 2-3 DAYS.

FORECASTER FRANKLIN

I really admire a great sense of humor, especially during this no-rest-for-the-weary season.

BTW, the balance of his discussion is excellent.

Yes, it really does add that "human touch" into the discussion. Sometimes we forget, I think, that these guys are just as human as we are....

 I read the 5am before logging on the S2k and woke up my husband from laughing so hard.

That was a priceless disscussion. Poor Forecaster Franklin. He probably wants "his" storm to be a memorable one ----- not a killer cane, but a memorable tropical event.

In 6 years, forecaster Franklin will get to comment on Storm Franklin again since this Storm will hardly get retired. Unless Forecaster Franklin gets retired first!

I was wondering that, too -- if his desk at work looks anything like mine.

Well, it was only a matter of time before we got to see this. I read the discussion before coming here and thought "well, I know they're going to be talking about this one."

So Franklin... the forecaster... not the storm... better get his shots in now. He's been waiting more than five years for this chance, and barring something extraordinary, it's going to be a while before Franklin... the storm... not the forecaster... makes his return.
