- Only 8 major hurricanes have been record in the month of July since 1851, that's about 1 every 19.25 years.

- 1916 and 2005 both have or had 2 major hurricanes in July.

- 1926 had the strongest major hurricane in July before Dennis developed, now 2005 has the record for the strongest July hurricane.

- Dennis and Emily are the strongest pair of storm to form in July, in 1916, both has winds of 120 mph.

- All made landfall, including Emily, remember she passed over Grenada.

Nice information! Although I believe the tie is for 150 mph winds... :D That was probably just a typo on your part anyway, no big deal.
