I know you guys are bound to be thankful to be getting a bit of a break for once. I'm surprised y'all weren't beginning to hate us over here on the western GOM after last year.

Hey Ducky, I could never hate a fellow GATOR. But seriously, these things seem to go in cycles and we could very well see Texas hit with a few storms in succession. I certainly would not wish that on anyone, but I've got to be honest. It sure is nice to see something in the Gulf and feel fairly confident that it is not going to affect our weather either directly or indirectly. BTW, I cannot wait for football season. GO GATORS!!!!!!!

While I can agree in part about cycles, no way I'd expect Texas would get hit with a few storms in succession. That's a reach IMHO. Often an atmospheric pattern may dictate that a setup is in place for "x" scenario, and that may morph with time (pattern pulses). But in the sense that Texas could very well be hit with a few storms in succession, I gotta disagree with that. It's not impossible, but it's pretty unlikely IMHO.

I just today got my power back from Dennis, and there are still about 15,000 without power in SAnta Rosa County where I live. Anymore hurricanes here, and many of us will be in a padded cell. NO MORE MOTHER NATURE!!! Please????

Yes, I'm very happy that Emily does not have her sights on the FLA Panhandle. However, I do hope for those that are in the path of Emily my best wishes in the upcoming days.

You Might be a Storm 2K weather watcher if your new summer catch phrase is:

HUNKER DOWN!!

I don't think we have anything to worry about with Emily. The pattern is setup in our favor this time. However, I have a feeling we will be threatened at least one more time this year. I have a real bad feeling about September. I don't know how much upwelling has occurred with the three Tropical Systems this year, but if this huge high builds in through August the North Central GOM will be primed in September. Well as primed as the the Northern GOM is going to get.

Just had to add: GO GATORS!!!!!

Oh, and be safe over there on the other side of the Gulf. Hopefully, she will hit a low population area.

*CHOMP!*

I guess we could pray really hard for nothing but fishes from here on out (after Em, of course, she's obviously not one).

LOL, Radar! :)
