Cancun, we hardly knew ye...

#1 Postby TPACane04 » Thu Jul 14, 2005 9:53 am

well, I am pleased that I do not have a nice quiet vacation to Cancun planned starting next Monday...I was there last summer and it was so pretty (albeit hot) and if Emily keeps chugging on current general path...ZOINKS SCOOBY!

safe to say Senor Frogs will not be selling many cervezas for a long time!

no hurikan, por favor!

I went to Cozumel twice and I loved it. Even though I had too many margaritas and tequilla shots from Carlos and Charlies to remember it much.

My best friend is on her honeymoon in Jamaica right now. She is supposed to be there until Sunday. I hope it doesn't get too bad there, and affect their flight out.

I know a lot of folks who live in Cozumel, and I have been there several times. I love it there:-) They've survived hurricanes before and will again. In fact, the press generally reported things to be MUCH worse than they actually were in the past. I guess because drama is good for sales. The locals get ticked off at bad reporting, because the worse the reports, the longer it takes for tourists to come back.

Its not a 100% certainty that Emily will hit Mexico. Its still days away. Its wise to take a wait and see attitude.People living along the S.tip of Texas would get a false since of security from talk like this

I went through that AO in late 1970 and stayed at a place called Isla Mujeres. I dont think Cancun even existed then.

Isla Mujeres was great. Lobster dinner for two bucks, and a 7 day festival was going on. I bet things have changed since then! Especially the prices!
