A little good news from FLA.

NAVARRE BEACH, Fla. -- Wildlife authorities Monday rescued a baby dolphin pitched onshore by the wrath of Hurricane Dennis.
"He was just sitting there flapping around," said Darrin Riley, a Florida Fish and Wildlife officer. "He'd been beached since the night before."
Somehow Dennis pitched the 100-pound bottlenose dolphin near tall condominiums on the beach. Officers placed the badly beaten-up mammal on a roof tarp and loaded him in the back of a pickup truck.
Officers took the dolphin to the bay-side of the island where Riley said the water was calmer. They lowered the tarp into the water, keeping their hands on the dolphin's smooth, grey skin. With long strokes, they massaged and soothed the dolphin while pulling it backwards in the water trying to make it swim again.
After about 10 minutes, the dolphin started squealing.
"He was looking for his mama," Riley said. "You know, we all feel really good about this. We certainly didn't expect him to survive."

That is awesome. After all the bad news we always hear it is nice to hear a good story. Hope he does ok :lol:

Maybe they should have put him back in on the Gulf side where his mother was?

I totally agree, hopefully he was not still nursing.... or he won't survive. I would think that if he were injured, they would have taken him to a rehabilitation unit. Hopefully, it all turns out well for the baby......
