Well, hopefully Hurricane Dennis has peaked at this 125 kt, although the 934 mb pressure may equate to a 130 kt hurricane. I really don't see anything to weaken this storm expect inner core structure changes, and even then I believe Dennis will maintain it's intensity during any eyewall replacement cycles.
As a matter of fact, it is still crossing over a warm eddy, and as the cyclone's winds catch up to the pressure and as it moves over the eddy, I feel that Dennis may briefly make it to the 130-135 kt range, with 140 kt having a small chance. Even to have to give 140 kt that small chance is amazing.
I think Dennis will make landfall in the Alabama/Florida area with winds of 125-135 kt although it could be as low as 120 kt or as high as 140 kt. In any case, all areas in the eyewall will experience monsterous conditions. Surge of 12-18 feet, locally 20 feet possible, especially if Dennis becomes a Category 5. Winds sustained in the Category 4 range, gusting well into the Category 5 range will cause extreme-catastrophiic damage wherever the eye makes landfall.
All in all, Hurricane Dennis is an epic storm, and July 10, 2005 will be an interesting day in history.
