Interesting AFD from NWS Melbourne

#1 Postby EDR1222 » Thu Jul 07, 2005 8:14 pm

This was actually from the early Wednesday morning discussion. Just thought it was interesting. I am not sure if it means there is a chance the Hurricane could stall somewhere once it comes ashore. I guess we shall see:

INDICATIONS ARE THAT A CONTINENTAL RIDGE MAY BUILD
OVER THE MIDWEST/APPALACHIAN REGION THAT WOULD PREVENT THE
CIRCULATION FROM MAKING A QUICK EXIT FROM THE GULF REGION. A
PROLONGED PERIOD OF DEEP SRLY FLOW ACROSS THE GULF REGION IS
POSSIBLE IF THIS SCENARIO PANS OUT. WILL INCREASE POPS INTO EARLY
NEXT WEEK TO 40/50% BEFORE RETURNING THE CWA TO A MORE TYPICAL SCT
SHRA/TSRA REGIME ON WED.
