Ummm, then why was the fire dept. driving up and down my street announcing the mandatory evacuations here on the Collier side of Bonita? I recall mandatory evacs for Marco and everyone west of 41 for Charley.

Thanks, Kevin for the updates. helps knowing someone that works for the gov't.... Haven't heard anything today about evacs, but it was probably just too early....

Transportation Director for the County is asking that all these evacuations are likely to change tommorow, however, at this time this is Southwest Florida's current plans. It is likely to change before the announcements from 10AM to 1PM on Friday.

Ok , disclaimer noted. My mom from Michigan flew down here on Wednesday to visit for the week and she had no idea about the hurricane. I guess she's in for some possible wild weather this weekend.

Just curious but if they were to begin evacs in the mornings, they would announce it pre-noon I would hope? Otherwise, those roads will be bad.
