Report from Dauphin Island-44knot sustained, gusts to 51

Okay...my wife made me get up...the dogs are terrified and she's madder than a wet hen ("Why didn't we evacuate?")...The winds are howling from the south...much stronger than during Arlene...the rain is so strong right now that the air conditioner has been overpowered and has given up...we lost power for a little while, but, amazingly, it's back on...Satellite TV is intermittent and my Direcway satellite internet is on hiatus...still no surge on my street (we're on the beach side, but on the "higher" part of the Island)...I'm betting that further down Bienville Blvd to the west, the roads are becoming inundated (typical)...I'll check in later if anything good (or bad) happens...Good night!
