Clay/ConcreteTile roof vs. Shingle Roof in a Hurricane
In our area we have both. After Frances and Jean last year most shingle roofs had to be replaced completely. Some of them still have blue FEMA tarps over them!! The few tile roofs that were damaged were either hit by something like a large tree limb or were not installed properly. Remember, when the shingles go the water comes next. If a tile is blown off or broken the roof doesn't leak because of the roll roofing underneath. I'm curious as to experiences with Charlie and Ivan in other areas.
