On its current track, wouldn't it make landfall right at Grand Isle? If you draw a line straight north from there...

Grand Isle is where they are predicting landfall.

It would probably be right near Grand Isle. It may turn at the last minute though? Right now winds at Grand Isle are out the east at 18, gusting to 29.

How can you tell that based on a non-animated static radar capture?

I use GRLevel3 software and I'm looking at the last 15 images. Everything seems to be rotating around that area. The image I posted is static since I can't post a loop.

I know, I was talking to the guy who said he thought it was moving NNE. Hard to tell motion from one image. :)

Look at visible loop and she still looks to be moving primarily north at a good pace an still getting better organized.

What loop are "you" talking about? To me it does look to be going just a tad east of north in both radar and sat. Looking at the radar, the Miss. Gulf Coast will have the brunt of the rough weather later tonight.

Hard to really see any nne movement on radar. The center has gotten pretty tight and is clearly just moving into the range of the long range radar out of N.O./Slidell . I say give it another couple hours to determine a move east of north.
